Interview with a manager

What is your Job Responsibility as a manager?

As a Finance administration Manager, I am incharge of the human resource and payroll of my team. I am required to identify my staffs strengths and delegate jobs to them depending on these strengths. I need to schedule datelines for my staff to get their job done by how long to obtain the done work. Not only do i have to do this, but i also have to either personally train my staff for certain jobs, or send them for trainings. Monitoring my staff's progress and efficiency is also important in bringing about maximum profits and turnovers. The main thing about what i do is to plan what i want my staff to do, Delagate the jobs, and monitor their progress.

My management style is that of a benevolant autocrat, must be compassionate to staff, always respect them even if they dont do the same to you. However, be clear and forceful in your expectations, and make sure that you have been heard out. Difficulties faced are mainly from problematic staff that are lazy, or those that only give problems but not solutions. Customer issues would include complaints and payment issues, quote example where a payment of something in the range of $10000-9000 not being paid to the company for their services rendered. Resulting in a small claims court case. In order to overcome the staff issues, it is important to know the strengths of these people, understand how they are, work with these positives, and motivate and empower them to become better, and more efficient staff. Only through being independant on her own was she able to let others under her grow more independant as well. Always aim for staff to do value added work, as the main purpose is to let everyone in the team excel and grow. For customers, the main way to deal with their complaints and payment issues is to firstly have patience, mantain amiable, and show as much respect as you can. Show them the right attitude, before you negotiate, then you pacify. Always learn new ways to solve new problems and use what you learn from them to prevent them from new problems from arising.

In order to be a good manager, one has to respect the staff, even if they do not do so. This would show how competent you are. A good manager will not only be competent, but also be ethical, adaptable, and still have integrity and responsibility. Always be professional and competent, and never stop learning. Still attends classes to constantly improve herself. Being creative is also good, as thinking out of the box is always useful in debugging. Anaysis before action is a must for managers, which would smoothen out the enforcement of the staff's jobs and ensure that your expectations are met, before empowering your staff to become of higher quality.
